I got a bunch of yarn at the thrift store over the weekend.  Six skeins were this really thick Lion Brand Chenille called VelvetSpun.  I crocheted a baby blanket and knit two baby hats from it.  I'm…Continue

Welcome Vanessa.  I agree, big projects are not the best for me.  I like dishcloths and coasters the best.  :)

Hi, there are lovely ideas on here.  How nice to have a place to chat about crochet.  At this point in my life I find it really hard to focus on large projects or complicated patterns, so I look for small things that can be completed in a short space of time like the passion flower in my profile pic.  I have also recently made a quiver for my son and a few mug hugs.  Themed ones are quite fun to create.

Yes, that does sound like fun.  Brook we do need pictures when they are done.

Oh Lori, that is pretty.  I will have to look over the pattern and see how it works up.  Thank you so much for the link.  :)

JoAnn, I just saw this cross bookmark:  I'm not sure how easy it is, it doesn't look TOO bad.  But it's a very neat pattern!

Hi Lori Lynn. I don't usually take a break from crocheting in the summer, though I do find it hard to work on scarves and cold weather things.  ;)  I've been trying to find a quick and easy bookmark pattern to crochet, but so far the ones I've tried I don't like.  Today I started a dish cloth, and of course I have my half finished afghan always waiting for me.  lol

Hi everyone!  I haven't been too active here recently, but I'm hoping to do more chatting!  What's on everyone's hooks?  Do you all take a break from yarn crafts over the summer months?  I'm knitting two scarves, crocheting one scarf and have an afghan sitting in a totebag beside my chair that I just haven't gotten around to!  What's everyone doing?

Hi Lara,

Those baby hats sound cute.  I have tried the support gloves while crocheting, and they do seem to help a bit.  There's no big change, but I do think I can crochet a bit longer when I'm wearing them.  I just never remember to wear them.  ;)

The latest thing I've crocheted is a baby cowboy hat. I live in Texas and it is a cute gift for friends with newborns. I also recently crocheted a baby blanket. I found making a blanket and a cowboy hat in one week was too much repetative motion work and ended up in a lot of pain :(. Have any of you actually used the wrist supports that they sell in craft stores and do they really seem to help?
